How does one feel when touching rain through a window? Or watching wind create shadows in the night?

**This is a small experiment on the behavior of rain and wind at night with natural street lamps.

Camera: Canon Eos 7D, 1080p, 24fps
Lens: Helios 44-2 58mm f2

@00:33Thank you! I appreciate that! My only concern at that time was the white balance, I can't stand street lights :P

Beautiful! Although filmed during a windy eve / night it has a lot of tranquility. I really like the way you shot in the direction of the streetlamps, as it gives a very warm color scheme as well as some kind of magical moment, which the music amplifies for me.

I was after the magic, as you mentioned :) Wind/rain can be calming under some circumstances :)

It's so relaxing and calm. I'm not sure what the story is or if it even matters, it's just a feeling that I get from those warm lights reflecting images through the raindrops. Beautiful cinematography.

Thank you. It doesn't have any story put into it, it was one of those moments when you see something beautiful and want to reproduce the atmosphere. It was surreal, listening to the rain and the little storm.

Lovely feeling you capture here.
Some of the transitions felt rather quick for the mood - was that deliberate?

Thank you. Well, I might as well say that this was not planned (the whole video), but based on a certain feeling I had that night, during that rain. It's possible that the transitions felt quick, but I didn't want something calm to go with the mood(which on camera it's slightly calmer than what really was outside)
Thanks!:D

Spontaneous is good!
On rewatching it in the light of your comments, if you want a less calm feeling, I think maybe change the soundtrack? Something in a diminished key, with some discords and ominous sounds might get one there? The importance of the sound, and its synchronization with where one wants the final product to go, is a rather overlooked discussion in video circles, I think.

Try some alternates from Kevin Macleods stuff in horror ([link]
How about [link] - a truly awesome piece - the power of Chopin reworked.
You would have small children in tears!

Just my R0.02!

It seems my phone tricked me when writing the reply  I thought I already responded to it, but it seems not.
Well, I am really grateful for the suggestions and feedback. There's always room to improve, I often tell myself that and to others, too. However, I will not change the soundtrack because I don't interpret it as calm, I think of it more as a mysterious sound that bundles up until the end of the video. From the first moment I've heard it, I knew it was the perfect soundtrack for this little video - experiment :)
Sound, as well as cinematography and all the other things take part of creating a film. For it to be seen as a whole project, the sound, or cinematography, or costumes must not attract more attention than the storyline. Of course, the synchronization is acting differently whether you're making a music video, an experimental, or a fictional film.
I'll go have a look (or ear:P) at the links you've sent me:)
Thanks, Grant!

The joy of the creative process is that there are so many options. And the best bit is that you get to choose what works for you!

Nice atmosphere. You captured the light like no other could/would. The warm orange makes the scenery look quite cosy, like the warmth of a fireplace when the rain is running down the windows. Compliments of the choice of the music too!

That feeling when you're on your own and witness a beautiful, simple moment such as rain on the window at night, and wish you could capture that and share with others...it's really great that you captured it on video to share with us. Most photos just don't seem to portray that same kind of magic. Thanks :)

It was, indeed, strange. To be alone in a dark room and simply look at that wind, which anyone could have witnessed. It was kind of relaxing, actually.

Film something, as in a short film, with a story and everything. I dislike tv and all that's about tv. Aaand, I wouldn't be good at that, giving the fact that I'm pretty much the shyest person ever.
