I like the way this shoot has been captured for several reasons.

One of the reasons is the presentation of colors and lighting. The colors stands out the most against the shadow and darker spots of the picture. Given that you have a black background, it makes the lightning stands out even more.

The second is that is a successful composition, because there is a foreground, middle ground and background. Clearly, I see the hill and person riding the bicycle as an elaborate foreground, then you have the female with white shirt and companion as middle ground, while the rest of the crowd fades in the back. That middle ground creates a semi-focus as well, where the highlight of the lightning is emphasis the most!

Thirdly, there is interaction between the people. A person riding the bike with ease, the couple in middle standing in the way as if they were talking to the box-like item on the grass, and almost all the people in the background are showing their backs, as if they are minding their own, which gives it an effect to let them fade into the darker spots of this picture. This makes the picture give more impact and interest.

There's a couple things that could be improved, though. The spotted texture is overused more than half of the picture, and it becomes distracting to find that the texture becomes the strongest focal point of the whole composition. Also, it is in the same direction as the lightning is presented diagonally. It would have been nicer if it wasn't concentrated heavily one side of the picture, and be more spread out. For instance, you could have balanced out the texture to spread it to the tree silhouette on the right and make that as part of an playing role with your foreground, otherwise I'm just ignoring it and treat it as something insignificant.

This made me lose the "magical' experience of the picture, it became more of not-so-dreamy picture, to a just afternoon ride at the park, more intention as a park under hazy and drizzle weather. But the people's reaction to their environment don't look as if it was foggy weather or a wet surrounding. So that throws me away from a surreal presentation. You could have added a smoke effect coming from the mouth of the bike rider, to show it is a cold, light raining weather, instead and I would totally fall into your envisioned "magical" experience. But, this is how I lose so much of the vision you were trying to create this as a 'magical" photograph, with the given title serving as an guide of this theme.

Another thing, that could be improve is sharing more view of the front hill to indicate this is park. The only reason, and guess this was a park, I picked up the two people on the far left in the background sitting. That simple interaction tells me the one place where people sit and lay down like that. Adding more nature would also help balance the presentation of this picture. For example, I notice there's way more people, than items. While there is only one tree silhouette, a cropped hill, and a small glimpse of the grass, because I'm heavily focused on the texture and lightning, when I look at everything at this picture. That would give it a more recognition, and impact for looking at this picture with one look and understand it.

So combining your skills in presenting your idea and editing skills incorporated, it has a strong sense of originality. You tried to make it look as a fantasy trip in the park, not an ordinary ride in the park or just a glimpse at the park, because you have so many details going on,that it is hard to not pay attention to them.

Overall, this was an amazing capture with both pro manipulation on colors, and weak texture presentation. It can be improve for a better quality in impact and vision, for a bigger look as a street surrounding shoot!

Thank you for sharing this brilliant moment in the photograph!
